Description:
Hey there! I am the Project Leader of Project Tegus, an offshoot of Children's Bible Ministries of Honduras. Our goal within this project is to reach our city of Tegusigalpa by taking the values and mission of CBM and applying it, sensitive to the local culture within Honduras. Our primary goal is to minister to children, sharing the Love of Jesus Christ. We hope that through caring for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, we effectively demonstrate a love also for their families, and we pray that we reach the entire family through the children. That is why CBM's motto is, "Win a Child, Win a Life." We pray that even more, as we win a child, we can also win the family."
Our method is simple. We plan to invade at-risk communities with the life-changing Gospel. Armed with a hope that can only come from His Word, our plans are to meet the children where they are. This means providing safety for them, to the very best of our ability. Many of these children live with insecurity. They don't know where their next meal is going to come from; in spite of their best efforts, there is a tragic likelihood that they will remain in poverty.
Using the local church as the backbone of our ministry, our goal is to provide for the children's physical needs by providing meals, a safe place to do homework and receive tutoring, and then the ability to build skills that will serve them into adulthood. However, all of this is secondary to the our primary goal, which is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them everyday. These children will know that the reason the church is serving them is because we believe Jesus has a beautiful and wonderful plan for their life.
Beyond this, Project Tegus desires to reach more than just one neighborhood. Our model for reaching the rest of the city is by making disciples through multiplication. As we commit to making disciples, our prayer is that God ignite the rest of the Central America as disciples make disciples. Our efforts will lead us to championing the cause of Christ in UNAH, the largest college campus in Honduras.
My role in all of this is to train and empower the locals to champion these causes, and I pray that you will partner with me.
Mission Statement:
My goal is to live a life of obedience and to allow Him to use me through my talents and abilities, and to use what He has given me to reach the lost and empower the redeemed. I fully belong to Christ, and wherever he would send me, I will go.
