What are certifications?

On the profiles, projects, and giving pages you may see different certifications. We have added these to help donors know who they are giving to. For example, there may be an official organization called Foundation For Hope in Africa that we have gotten from the IRS database. Meanwhile another person may have a different organization with the same name, and they can create a profile on our site.

So always make sure you know who you are donating to, and that they have the certificates you would expect them to.

Also note, that certifications are passed from parent to children. So this means, that if Foundation for Hope in Africa has an IRS certification, any giving page made for that profile will also have the same certification.

What these certificates mean

C2G Certified	The Continue To Give Badge means that the owner of this account has been verified by our staff at Continue To Give
Certified Church	The certified church badge means that this profile has been created through a data list we receive from Oddity. This list is a list of Churches. If you donate to an organization with this badge, we send the money to the address we have on file from Oddity. Also, a person can claim this profile, but when they claim it, they cannot change the address where we send money
IRS Certified	The IRS badge means that this profile was created through our charitable organizations data feed with the IRS (updated quarterly). We send the money to the address we get through the IRS feed for these organizations. Also, if someone claims the organization, they are not able to update the address
