JOB CREATION OPPORTUNITY ?

Meet Johane! She has been my neighbor for the last year. She has 2 boys, Samy (9) and Wood (11). Her husband left to go to Santo Domingo to try and find a job, but she hasn't heard from him since. That story is pretty typical these days with the economy in Haiti being almost non-existent, and unfortunately so is the story of the husband creating a whole new life and leaving his Haiti one behind. Johane currently has a small stand where she tries to sell soaps, hair accessories, toilet paper and sandals; however she does not make much money, some days she sits out by her stand for 8 hours and make 100g or .74¢. 

Johane recently told me that she has a dream to start a sewing shop so she can better provide for her boys. She struggles sending them to school every year. The sewing machine she would need is pictured second. It costs $240 and can be bought in our local town. I would also like the provide her with a $25 startup sewing kit from Amazon. 

Each school uniform that a child needs to go to school needs to be sewn together. Most clothes bought in the market need to be altered. Mens church pants need to be hemmed. Seamstresses in Haiti make decent money as it is a need versus a want for people.
