Mission Statement:
Jacob and I are part of CCHI ( Collaborative Community Housing Initiative) a grassroots, nonprofit organization made up of 30 families (and growing) who all have raised young adults with special needs. We are creating independent living opportunities for people like Jacob and we are making considerable progress!
We recently earned approval to create our first multi-family housing development in Highwood,Illinois. This is an inclusive community with 35% of the apartments reserved for those with special needs and the remainder for typical people who work on the North Shore. Imagine people of all abilities living together in one place, with communal spaces to hang out, share a meal, watch a movie, or create art and music in the building's studio! A place where everyone feels welcome and Jacob can feel at home.
I am asking for your support to help us create a meaningful, safe, and joyful life for Jacob. With our friends and families' help, we can create this future together.
